Baby News

May 15th, 2008

You know the saying “Nobody likes change but a wet baby” … well, goo goo gaa gaa! We got all kinds of change going on and hey, most of it is actually good!

So I’m not teaching at Michaels Craft Stores anymore. In fact, no one is … unless you do cake. That was really disappointing news for me back in March. But it spurred me on to do two things … first, I found me a wonderful new job with paid vacation and benefits! YAY! My mom and my kids are both very happy.

But it also gave me an opportunity to find some new places to teach and develop some new classes to offer. And I’m excited about all these new starts, just like all the gardens that are bursting into bloom. So take a look at my class schedule when you get done reading here. You may find something you’ll like and if not, email me and suggest something! I’m always open to new ideas for classes.

Another change on the horizon … Bead Happy in Oregon City is moving. Not far … just a little bit closer to Portland. They are moving out of their current shopping center, which is going to be under construction soon, and relocating up the road a piece to the Holly Farms Plaza in the Oak Grove area of Milwaukie. They’ll still have the easy access of being on SE McLoughlin Blvd, with the same great parking and the Oak Grove Cinema right next door! So be sure to stop in and see the great new digs. And sign up for a class!

And if you live on the west side of the city, good news for you too! This summer, I am pleased to have the chance to teach at Village Beads on SW Capital Hgwy in Multnomah Village. This is a great shop with an amazing assortment of semi-precious stones, not to mention everything else! And a wonderful assortment of classes and teachers to activate your creativity gene. I’ve even signed up for one of Cecelia’s classes myself! If you haven’t found this store yet, now’s your chance!

The exact addresses and phone numbers for these stores are on my class schedule page, for your information. You can call them for directions and to register for classes.

Last but sooooo not the least … new knitting – and crochet! – classes at Yarnia in SE Portland. Socks! Knitting Surgery! Pattern Reading! Circular needles and lots more. Check out my scheduled classes and check out Lindsey’s website to learn more about this really cool, really unique yarn store in Portland.

I’ve got links for all these locations right at the bottom of this page, including my own new website for building your own private classes and parties. In your home with your friends and family, at your church or club group meeting … Red Hat ladies, Girl Scouts, bridal or baby showers, birthday parties … get those creative juices flowing and have a lot of fun at the same time. Beadwork of all kinds, knitting, felting, crochet, and quilting are my specialties. I’m a patient teacher, an experienced crafter, and, especially, an enthusiastic laugher! Together we’ll design a class, a party and an experience!

Be joyful, my friends! Smiling is good for your face … joy is good for your heart … laughter is good for your neighbor.

Spread a Thread of Joy!
